Car: Triumph TR3A
Registration No: XSK 544
Commission No: TS82322
Colour: Signal Red
First Registered: 28/02/1962
Bought from Keith Waterton (TR Register member) December 2007.
I asked Bill Piggott to provide a build record but he was unable to do so as the car is one of the last 30 built and some of those records are missing - my car being one of them!
He suggested I try BMIHT which I will do so.
The car has some modifications since a complete body-off rebuild during 1998 - 2002.
It has rack & pinion steering; Hi-Torq starter; stainless steel exhaust system with 4 into 1 manifold; fast road cam; electric fan; lumenition electronic ignition; K&N air filters; set of chrome wire wheels; set of minilite type alloy wheels; alloy rocker cover; updated HS6 carburettors; front anti-roll bar; hard top, hood, hood bag and tonneau; stainless steel boot rack.
I have the records from the DVLA of some of the previous owners dating from 1974 - unfortunately, a continuation log book was issued so no earlier details available. The car has had 4 different registrations:
originally: 7191 SM (from 28/02/1962)
then: LAP 3 (at least by 1982 but may have been some years before)
and: AHJ 25A (around 1985)
finally now: XSK 544 (sometime during 1988)
I am using the car as frequently as possible in most weathers - and it's great fun. It is well maintained and looked after by myself with help from mainly Clive Manvers of Manvers Triumph as and when necessary.
