Curry night 2011

Once again, the annual Clyde Valley curry night!

A good time had by all and lots of reminiscing plus planning for the forthcoming season!

Borders (well, Northumbria) 2010

A slight re-interpretation of the traditional Clyde Valley Borders Weekend this year ... on the Northumberland coast.  Oh!  What awful weather!  But a stunning experience (and that was without the TRs!).

For
some reason, I was in charge of navigation on the day's outing following Steve and Muriel's excellent instructions but still managed to fail to turn right when I should.  "Oh well, carry on" I thought,  looking at the map, "we'll take that little road on the left just outside Wooler and get back on plan".  Ha!  the left turn turned out to be a narrow road only just wide enough for TRs but beautiful scenery.  Those of the party brave enough to follow me enjoyed it but lucky we met nothing coming the other way!!!

Much of the party camped north of Seahouses while the rest were scattered in B&Bs or hotels between Bamburgh and Seahouses.  It might have been an apocryphal story but did we hear that some of the tents blew away in the night.
If I tell you that our planned boat tour of the Farne Islands was brought forward an hour due to the increasingly poor weather, you will understand why the tents might have been blown away.

The Farne Islands were amazing, to see all the birds – millions of them - and how far Grace Darling had to row to save the shipwrecked sailors.   And none of us were seasick!!

The following day a tour round a grand house in Eyemouth discovered all sorts of smugglers' tricks, followed by traditional Eyemouth fish and chips, nom, nom, nom!

Borders 2009

Here we are once again on our Borders outing based at Innerleithen ... a wet day for a tour to the lead mines at Wanlockhead but finding folks panning for gold when we got there made it all worth while.

Moffat 2008

Another special outing to the Rootes show at Moffat ... this one specially memorable for Steve having to hare off to Edinburgh to sort out the heating in a block of flats!

Laggan Bridge outing June 2008

A lovely morning coffee at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, followed by lunch at Blair Castle and a tour and tastings at Dalwhinnie Distillery then overnight at Laggan Bridge (which didn't turn out as planned so became Coylumbridge!!) .... all Scotland in 2 days.

Borders Weekend May 2008

Off to Drumlanrig Castle this time in fine form, as you will see ... and, no, we did not make off with any paintings by Leonardo da Vinci (think they are well and truly locked up nowadays!) because Steve said he couldn't hide one in his TR!

Curry Night out 2008

As is traditional we foregathered at the curry place in Johnstone.  I have not mentioned it's name as it changes every time we go there!

Glamis Castle 2007

The annual Classic Car Extravaganza ....

Moffat and Wanlockhead 2007

Let's not even ask what Steve, Scotty and Duncan were planning to do in their very smart white hard hats!!
