After a slightly delayed departure from Chiverton, good progress was made westwards on the A30 passing Carn Brea en route to the Hayle rendezvous.

We all made the most of the opportunity to have a good look over Phil Tucker's amazing recreation of a 1959 TR3S. This was one of its first public airings and crowd control will probably be needed at any future events.

1959 Mulsanne memory?

These are the first shots I have taken from the passenger seat of Chris Sergison's magnificent TR2 LMW 140 since 1977. We soon got back in to the way of things.

I just had to remember that Chris is very good at getting his TR close to roadside objects
like lamp-posts and walls.

Do we think so many TRs have ever been through St. Ives in one go before?

That was a superb run over Cornwall's finest roads in wonderful weather. The route meant it was virtually impossible for the camera car to jump the convoy to get shots of all of the record number of cars taking part.

Here are some , but not all of the culprits.

Don't worry, these two always look so happy.

The camera car.

It's OK, his other car is a TR.

The one memory from the best evening run so far, would have been very difficult to photograph. We were running at the back of the convoy on the return TRip from Zennor to St. Ives. The seemingly endless procession of red tail lights was amazing as the cars travelled the curves and undulations of the wonderful B3306.

Here's one from the archive that proves that while our TR invasion of Zennor was probably the biggest ever, TRs had been recorded in the area before.

I took this shot of a 6 there on a dark December afternoon in the late 1970s.
