Balloon Festival and Classic Car Weekend, Evesham
It was billed as one of 'the' events of the year in Evesham. The balloon festival and classic car weekend in Evesham, so where else would you find the Cotswold vale TR club?
June 9th and its 8.00am, a quick run down to Meadow to find our area for the day and with the help of David Williams from the Sporting Bears club we marked out our area.
Then 30 minutes later yours truly GTR4 Dove and Mike Parry TR4a arrived with all the "kit" for such a venue. By 9.30 am the gazebo, flag, bunting, table, magazine rack and enrolment forms were all inplace. Colin Boother's TR6 arrived just as we finished and in time for a coffee -- nothing new there then!. Thereafter a procession of cars arrived - to many to name but we had at least 14 at anyone time and a total of 16 during the day.
We ranged from a TR2 through to a TR8, thanks Cat. In fact the only model missing was a TR7.The weather was perfect and we had a lot of interest in the cars through out the day. It was clear to us that the organisers were extremely pleased with our turn out and the show we put on.Some of the photographs show our area and people milling around the cars.
Needless to say our club members quickly found the beer tent and the roast pork catering facility, the crackling was superb. The old ex-army vehicles next to us attracted a lot of people and I gather that the event was attended by approximately 10,000 so a good opportunity to show off our cars locally.
Will we be back next year? I think the answer has to be yes!
