2.6.08 Monthly Meeting
6/8.6.08 Derbyshire Dales weekend

8.6.08 Roger Myers’ run to Breighton Airfield ****NOTE CHANGED DATE
Meeting 10.00 for a 10.30 departure from Deep Dale Lay-by on the A1079 between Bishop Burton and Market Weighton. There is a run to a pub lunch at North Duffield, followed by an Open House Day at Breighton Airfield. Here we will be able to tour the hangers and view the old aircraft which operate from here. 13.6.08 Friday Evening Gliding from Pocklington
Gliding used to be a regular event on our calendar. This year substantial interest was shown at the AGM and at a recent monthly meeting. This was always intended as a mid-week event, but it has been difficult fixing a date. Phil has had to settle for Friday evening. Cost will be £20 per head, subject to a minimum of 10 people.Meeting at 6pm for 6.30 start of flying, though late arrivals can be accommodated. Wear something warm!

NOTE: Westholme Caravan Park no longer takes campers. Street Head Caravan Park, Newbiggin, DL8 3TE is very close and still takes campers. Booking is advised if you intend camping (phone 01969 663 472). This site is on the B6160 near Newbiggin, just south of Aysgarth. Many pubs or B&B are available in the area. Runs start at 10.30 from the George and Dragon in Aysgarth on the A684.

Please Note that you should always contact the organisers to confirm that you plan to join them. This is vital when meals are being booked.
TR Ladies
At the AGM in November the idea of a TR Ladies (only) outing was well received. One possibility is a day in Harrogate starting with a session at the newly-refurbished Turkish Baths and Spa (www.harrogate.gov.uk/turkishbaths). The rest of the day could be spent at Betty’s tearooms and/or going round the shops. Monday is the least busy day at the baths (also the cheapest £14.20) and has a ladies-only session. Saturday sessions are mixed and more expensive £17.20 – also busier (the best time is 9.00-11.30). On Sundays there are also ladies only sessions - however shops may not be open. Pre-booking is not possible so they just serve the first 60 who show on that day (another reason for choosing Monday).
Since Monday appears best (although that may involve taking a day off work) the dates would be Monday 28 July or Monday 4 August.
