Applecross/Torridon Run

Thanks to all who made our first run out in some years such a good day. Despite being a bit damp at the start and finish (mildly moist I think Clarkson calls it) we had a great run to Applecross via Lochcarron and up over the Bealach na Ba. Cracking road and for those who haven't done it, highly recommended. It fairly thinned the oil down a bit.

Lunch at the excellent Applecross Inn, (seafood to die for) and then onwards to Shieldaig. Most of us took a break here for tea although Tom and Gilbert were so far ahead that they carried on without the pitstop. After tea and a wrong slot from yours truly as we left Shieldaig it was a run through the spectacular scenery of the Torridon hills and Ben Eighe and back through to Inverness and all places south east and west.

For anyone travelling in the Highlands this is a brilliant run to do as I hope some of the following photo's will show.

Heading from Shieldaig to Torridon.........Liathach ahead

On top of the Bealach........engines cooling (chilly for June)

and......Applecross to Shieldaig in amongst the natives.

At Applecross Car Park ready for the off.........
