Bourne Free
(nothing to do with that nice couple and their lions)

Julia was the MC for our June Sunday run, and she kindly arranged a trip to the annual Bourne Classic Car & Bike Show, in Bourne town centre oddly enough. And no charge to get in.

Parked up opposite an increasingly rare rural sight, a Post Office

A number of us convened at the Market Square in Wragby for a drive down to Bourne, meeting the rest of the gang at the Nag's Head for lunch prior to steaming through the show. More of a sort of dribble in reality.

Quite a turn-out, quite a mixture of vehicles too

One of the biggest shocks was to discover that the trade in human flesh still goes on in the deep south of Lincolnshire.

Closer inspection of this beautiful vehicle reveals a real surprise........

This rather elderly specimen was apparently confined to this vehicle for the whole day, but at least the owner had left the window slightly open to stop her getting overheated. This potential purchaser is presumably taking the opportunity to quiz the the poor creature on skills issues, and check her teeth.

I was going to type something humorous here as well, but I've been advised to stick to mentioning Jane and Charlotte in the foreground.

PS: We do however appear to be developing a uniform, ladies.....

Quite a line-up TRs against a backdrop of the Louth and District Car Club offerings. Well done chaps. We left ours in the pub car park.

               A couple of well-presented roadsters....................

                    .....and a lovely Maserati coupe...........

And to round off the day a Racing Green BRM, marking the town's connection with this famous marque.

A small museum just down the road has  this sign adjacent to it, to mark Raymond Mays racing achievements. The link below takes you to the Heritage Centre website:

A grand day out to a traditional show in a field with an educational angle just down the road.  A visit to the Heritage Centre is well worth it if you are that neck of the woods. (And it's free as well!)

Nice one Julia.
