Donington Easter Monday 2008

The first round of the 2008 MGCC Thoroughbred Sports car Championship was held at Donington this Easter Monday. It is fair to say it was a very cold day, with a real chill in the wind.

Unfortunately Dave McD wasn't on the grid owing to a nasty dose of water in the engine oil, a problem he hopes to get fixed for his next outing.

There were a number of TRs running, including 2006 & 2007 champion Mike Hazlewood and Mike Hughes, the Register's Competitions Secretary.

Mike Hazlewood managed a second overall, with a class C win, following a restart of the race after a D-Type replica emptied its oil onto the track and spun out at the beginning of the main straight.
