Ladies & Gents

A quick update as the next copy of TR Action is due out on the 10th October and there's a few new things happening before then:-

28th September; Classic car and bike meet at Earls Barton. I believe this may be the last one this year.
1st October; Leicester TR Group are having a Driving skills day which involves the driver wearing a blindfold and the passenger navigating a course - I asked Mrs I whether she may be interested as councillors would be available if necessary but she felt that St. Johns ambulance may be more appropriate. We may attend but only as spectators!
Please see attached for more info.
2nd October; Triumph Day at Duxford. Have a look here; http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/conEvent.3615

There's further events to come through October and November but they will be noted in TR Action out shortly.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

25 July 2011

Hi Everyone

Ok, a quick update with lots of attachments.

To get started; Who's planning on going to Harrogate for the International this weekend? And who's camping?
Please confirm if you are and we can maybe all meet up somewhere.
Attached is a programme of events, map and a short piece on the Harewood Hill Climb.

Next, Classic car meeting in Earls Barton on Wednesday. Good to get together before the International but more importantly, those damn MX5 owners have the greatest turnout of cars and we need to offer some competition.

Next is a booking form for the Clanger Run in September.

Then we have details of "Classic Car of the Year" in association with Classic Car Weekly. Need to move quickly on this one as the closing date for entries is the end of July.

And finally we have minutes of the Management Committee meeting in June.

I'm now off to write the Social Scene.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

28 June 2011

Hello again

Another quick mail to remind everyone that our TR Gliding evening is this Friday, the 1st July.
The venue is here; http://www.wellandgc.co.uk/ and we start from 4pm onwards. For those who unfortunately have to work during the week, we'll be there probably around 6ish. The Welland Gliding Club uses the Lyveden airfield near Brigstock (near Corby) but have a look at the link for directions. If you don't want to go up then there's no pressure and you are free to attend as a spectator. The weather is looking good at the moment but if it changes I'll e-mail accordingly.

The 2nd item to note is the Kimbolton on Sunday 10th July. Again, another cracking event and always popular. 800+ Classic cars, show ring events, The Sealed Knot, craft stalls, etc. An excellent day out with or without a TR. Have a look here for more info; http://www.kimboltoncountryfayre.com/ . For exhibitors (us); Entrance is by numbered ticket (which I have) and is £8 per car on the day to a worthwhile charity.
Meeting point is the Market Square at Higham Ferrers at 9am. That's Higham Ferrers at 9am. Think I've got it correct this year - bit of a typing error in 2010.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

29 May 2011

A quick update following on from TR Action 250 as I have no idea what I was writing at the time but it's either wrong or misleading. Unfortunately it was my fault rather than the Editor:-

Our gliding evening is on the Friday the 1st
July from 4pm-ish to 8pm-ish, depending upon weather etc.
Kimbolton is on the 10th July and I am now in possession of 40 tickets, available on a first come first serve basis. Payment is made on entrance so nothing required up front however, you will need a ticket to get in. £8.00 on the gate.

And then we have a change from previously notified; The clay pigeon shooting must be rearranged. Unfortunately something has come up at the shooting club and we have to rearrange for the 19th June which is Fathers Day. Please advise if this is no longer convenient or whether you are now able to attend.

I attach an event list which should be up to date (except the shooting noted above), but you can also look on the website here;
http://www.groups.tr-register.co.uk/nene-valley/future_events.html

Hopefully that's cleared everything up.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

11 April 2011

Hello Again

Group meeting last night (Sunday) and the latest revision of the Events Calendar is available on our website in the 'Future Events' section along with booking forms and other useful information. The direct link is; http://www.groups.tr-register.co.uk/nene-valley/future_events.html.

A late entrant to note:- Donington at the end of April, and a few other bits and pieces.

With regards to Drive it Day this coming Sunday, we are still fairly split; some have booked on the Stilton Run and others are going to the Standard Triumph day at Crich Tramway Village.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

Best Regards

Rob Isaacson

Ladies & Gentlemen

The days are getting longer and the clocks go forward at the weekend. Drive it day is getting closer and the events list is filling up. The latest events calendar has been uploaded.

A couple of points to note;
Clay pigeon shoot in June. Need confirmation of intent to ensure the event goes ahead. Could be an intergroup challenge for the East Midlands area??? Group Leaders can perhaps speak about this at the weekend GL meeting.

The gliding evening is back by popular demand in July. Please note this is the 1st July and again, please register your interest.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

Best Regards

Rob Isaacson

15 February 2011

Ladies and Gentlemen

The year is progressing and I know a number of eager members have already ventured out. I’ve not seen mine since November so I hope it’s alright!

Anyway, the events list is also progressing:-

The Nene Valley weekend away is highly likely to proceed as planned following an excellent response. Obviously this is the kind of thing we like! The hotel is http://www.qhotels.co.uk/hotels/stratford-manor-warwickshire.aspx and the package is £59 per person, per night, dinner, bed and breakfast.

The hotel will provide dedicated parking and route plans for drives out however, what you do is up to you. Nobody will be directing things, if you want to follow a route plan then carry on. If you want to relax in the spa pool, again, carry on.

At the moment we have 10 rooms allocated although everyone will be asked to book their own when the time arises. To Eric, Fiona, Phil – Not spoken as yet but are you still in?

We have also put a date in the diary for another gliding evening. Back by popular demand, Friday the 8th July has been noted. We considered the 13th May but decided it might not be too well attended!

Looking at another clay pigeon shoot, again back by popular demand. Not my favourite pastime but I never liked anything I was rubbish at! Need minimum of 15 so please make yourself known if you want this again.

OK, I’ll have nothing to write in TR Action if I carry on so that’s it. New Events list next time or have a look at the calendar on the website.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

11 January 2011

Ladies & Gentlemen

It's cold and miserable outside and therefore the ideal opportunity to plan what's happening this year.

Looking for signs of who may be interested in a touring weekend away?
Please see the attached flyer from a hotel in Warwickshire who can provide overnight accomodation, secure parking and organize a run out for a group of classic car enthusiasts.

At the moment we're just looking for interest and likely numbers.

The best date which does not clash with other events (at the moment) and suits the hotel is the 7th 8th May.

Please could you return mail mailto:noscaasit@hotmail.co.uk. if interested and we'll see where we go from there.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

Best Regards

20 September 2010

Hello again

Well, a few more late events this year so revised calendar attached.

The latest additions are at the end of September and a couple of things in October. I'll leave it with you to find out what and where.

How's everyone doing on the road tax and mileage?
I've only got 400 miles left on the 3k limit so could be cutting it fine again.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

Best Regards

Rob Isaacson

9 August 2010

 Hi All

Another group meeting last and more late events to share:-

Onyourmarks Charity event day on the 15th August (that's this Sunday).
Exhibitor Vehicle Pass attached. I believe you simply complete it and arrive, I know nothing more than what's stated on the form.

Next is further information on the Scarecrow weekend in Lubenham; Flyer attached.

And finally; an intergroup event:-

Leicester TR Group Autumn Autotest and Spit Roast

On Saturday 2nd October we will be holding an Autotest at New Lodge Farm, Bulwick, East Northamptonshire. NN17 3DU see www.newlodgefarm.com

The timed Autotests will take place around cones on a smooth grass paddock which will not damage cars. Tests will commence at 10.00am and continue one car at a time, until about 4.30pm. You can come and go as you please; there will be plenty of time to visit nearby towns of Oundle, Uppingham, Stamford and Corby, or walk in surrounding Rockingham Forest which should be at its colourful best in October. See www.forestry.gov.uk/.../EnglandNorthamptonshireRockinghamForestFineshadeWood

Coffee, tea, soft drinks and light refreshments will be available all day at the Farm Bistro, and the award winning “Best Rural Retailer” Farm Shop will also be open.

The £10/person Spit Roast Lamb will be ready to carve at about 5.00pm, served with a quality salad and a bun. Soft drinks are available to purchase, but if you would like a beer or glass of wine, bring your own. Veggie options available with prior notice.

The weather will, of course, be wonderful. But if it’s wonderfully wet, there is plenty of room in the Bistro to accommodate everyone.

For more info and entry forms, contact Dick Goodey

richard.goodey@sky.com 01572 813466 or 07739 432425

OK, another finally:-
Work has started on http://www.groups.tr-register.co.uk/nene-valley/ and will hopefully continue, develop and become an interesting and informative place to visit. Also considering linking up to Facebook and / or msn as well. Thoughts anyone please. Do you use these sites and would it be a better means of communication? Please let me know as the TR Register is your club, Nene Valley is your group and the rest is up to you.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

Best Regards

Rob Isaacson

6 July 2010

Hello again

Group meeting this coming Sunday but unfortunately (or fortunately), I will not be there.

If you require a ticket for the Kimbolton show, Nigel should be at the Group meeting and he will have them. Please make yourself known for your discounted ticket. Nigel, I'll drop them round in the morning! and thanks!

Camb Followers have already taken 15 tickets and it's first come first served.

If you cannot make Sunday then I guess we'll meet in the Market Square in Higham Ferrers at 9:30 as usual. May have some tickets spare if you're feeling lucky.

That's it for now, hope to see you somewhere soon.

Best Regards

Rob Isaacson
