TR Action 255

A Happy new year to one and all!

Our club nights are still getting a great turn out of cars and folks even with the dark winter nights.

Quite a few of the group went to the Donnington Triumph/MG Show, good for a first attempt and nice to see everyone there. Members have also been to  the NEC show and various rallies etc. around the area. A few of us popped down to the TR AGM to keep abreast of the national scene , and much to Chris Mountford’s surprises he was awarded a Gold award for his services to the Stoke group over the last thirty years and the Register in general.

We will be having the Group AGM on February 6th at 9pm - usual format. As always it is your time to have your say on the group.

One final note is to express our sadness at the loss of Robert Taylor who passed away on November 14th. A true classic car enthusiast, he and Janet were area organizers and stalwarts of the Stag owners club and members of the Stoke TR group, joining in many of our events both locally and nationally. A true gentleman and always enthusiastic, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Bye for now.

Our club nights are still getting great turn outs of cars and folks, even with the nights drawing in.

The Manifold valley run saw 22 cars start from the Holly Bush, and winding their way up through Thorncliffe with some beautiful views and then Crowdecote and ending up at the Hartington Wakes show. We had free entry to this Agricultural show with harness racing, lurcher and terrier shows etc going on. After that it was a cruise down to Hartington and then Wetton and the Tunnel, then back over the hill to Butterton and the ford before arriving at  the Jervis arms at Onecote, where they had set out a room for us. Alas, there were too many of us so we had to split into two rooms. Sue and Kevin Shaw had made a Stoke Group 30th anniversary cake - yes the group is thirty years old this year! Funny how time flies. Anyway a big thank you to Sue and Kevin for the cake and every one that came along on the day. Also cheers to Roy and Dot for the pre-event tea and coffees as well.

The Christmas meal will be at the Wharf Inn at Goldstone on the 4th December; usual format etc; for menus contact Simon.

As always, for more info just email or phone. Wishing everyone a merry Christmas

Bye for now.

Our club nights have been getting a fantastic turn out of cars and people during the summer, great to see everyone there.

The International Weekend saw a good turn out of Stoke members old and new , camping through the weekend, lots to see and do,  main hall very nice and laid out just right. It was nice to see everyone there and have a catch-up.

The TSSC weekend saw a few of the group attending, with Cat supporting the TR Register stand.

Next up was the Stoke group's Normandy trip, which will be reported separately - just to say a big thank you to Chris and Marie for organizing it all.

The following weekend saw some of the group with a club stand at the Cholmondely classic show, nice weather and a good turn out of cars there. The same weekend also saw a large contingent of the group head up to the Lakes. On the Saturday the weather was typical Lakes (rain all day) while Sunday everyone was getting sun burnt. Thanks to Cat and his team for organizing it all.

We will hopefully sort out dates for the Christmas meal shortly, so more on that next time. As always for more info just email or phone

Bye for now.
