TR Action 228
The Club nights are as well supported as ever. John has new springs on his TR6 which has transformed it. Quite a few members have been off to the continent in their TRs, whilst quite a few more are heading off to the Le Mans Classic in July.
Some of the Group popped along on the Shropshire group’s Peaks run, meeting up in Cheadle before heading off into the hills. Next up was the Cholmondely Castle show with over 25 cars there on a joint Stoke and Shropshire stand on a scorching hot and sunny day, with plenty of sunburn to boot. Thanks to Reg and Steve for setting the stand up. Group members have also been to the Sanbach Festival of Transport, Prescott Hill Climb Triumph day, Tatton Park and many other local shows also.
We will be running an Economy Run on August 31st, starting from Barleston and finishing up near Alsager; for more info just get in touch.
Don’t forget the International Weekend - we should be in our usual place, so pop along and say hello or stop for the weekend.

The Club nights are as well supported as ever, and a lot of the winter projects are finished. Niel’s TR5V8 is back on the road, the Goodwin’s TR3A now has rack and pinion steering, John has his new TR6 on the road, while lots of Poly bushes have appeared on group cars over the winter.
Captain Dave popped down to the Group Leaders meeting at Didcot to keep the group’s finger on the pulse, as they say.
The first show of the Spring - if you can call it that - was the Weston Park show over the Easter bank holiday. We were there for two days and despite the early morning snow in Stoke we had a respectable turn out with twenty five cars there over both days from Stoke and Shropshire groups.
Don’t forget the extra club night at the Wharf Inn over near Market Drayton; it is our 14th year and a great chance to meet up with old friends and get your car out for a pleasant evening.
June 15th sees our group stand at the Trentham Gardens show, if you need a ticket just give us a call. You can get updates on our events on our website, just follow the link from the Register site.

Feb saw our AGM. With a very good turnout of our membership there, we touched on all the usual topics and some new ideas. As well as including some tech sessions and runs out, we will be having club stands at the usual classic car shows. We should be having a group run with the Shropshire group to the Peak District in April; call us or look on the website for up to date info
Many thanks to former group leader Trevor Holloway who brought along some vintage Stoke group windscreen stickers, fifteen years old or so we think, so everyone went home with one for free. We also had some discussions on the Le Mans Classic with a few of our members making their plans to go. As always if you need any info on anything just get in touch.
Dave is back in as group leader, Ian as treasurer and me in as secretary for another year…
Our members are doing lots of modifications to their cars, the Goodwins are putting rack and pinion on their TR3A, Chris and Marie are getting their TR5 out on the road, Neil is sorting his TR5 V8 out, MX 5 seats have been put in our TR6 V8, to name but a few.
Quite a few of our members popped down to the Stoneleigh Triumph show; there were lots of folks to meet up with and plenty of spare parts and some good deals to be had, and a couple of group members had an Autojumble space there to clear out some space from their garages.
You can get updates on our events on our website; follow the link from the TR Register site. Bye for now.
